Rwanda Honors Zimbabwean Educators at 2024 End-of-Year Celebration

The Ministry of Education in Rwanda held an event to honor 147 Zimbabwean teachers for their outstanding contributions to the country’s education sector. These educators serve in Teacher Training Colleges, Rwanda Polytechnics, TVET schools, and the University of Rwanda's College of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Joseph Nsengimana, the Minister of Education, expressed gratitude for their dedication, highlighting their positive impact on schools, students, and the education system. He commended their innovative teaching methods and their ability to adapt to Rwanda’s cultural environment.

“We are not only celebrating the festive season; we are also deeply grateful for the significant impact you have brought to our schools and students. You have enriched the educational landscape in Rwanda through innovative teaching methods and a commitment to student success.”

Emphasizing the significance of their contribution, the Minister announced that Rwanda plans to recruit more teachers from Zimbabwe to expand the program.

The Higher Commission of Zimbabwe to Rwanda, Her Excellency Professor Charity Manyeruke, expressed appreciation for the excellent relations between the two countries, particularly this collaboration and exchange of education personnel.

The event celebrated the educators’ role in improving education quality and fostering international collaboration between Rwanda and Zimbabwe. It emphasized their shared commitment to delivering quality education and building a brighter future for Rwandan students.

Rwanda and Zimbabwe signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 23, 2021, to enhance educational collaboration and exchange between the two sister countries.
