2019 National Examinations for P6, S3 and TTC results released
Kigali, 30th December 2019, The Ministry of Education released the 2019 National Examinations for P6 and S3 results and awarded 26 best performing students – 10 students from Primary, 10 students from Ordinary level and 6 students in TTC.
In his remarks, the Minister of State commended students for their performance and parents for their parental support. He later stressed the role played by teachers where he said that teachers are the cornerstone for the overall performance of students.
Primary National examinations started on 04/11/2019 and ended on 06/11/2019. Atotal number of 286,721 primary candidates from 2,817 schools were registered in 938 examinations centres. Five subjects were examined, namely: Mathematics, Kinyarwanda, Social Studies, English, Science and Elementary Technology. Candidates who sat for all 5 subjects in 2019 were: 280,456 as compared to 232,004 (2018). Out of 278,456; 150,810 candidates (54.16%) are girls while 127,6646 candidates (45.84%) are boys.
Ordinary Level Secondary National examinations started on 12/11/2019 and ended on 19/11/2019. 115,417 Ordinary level candidates from 1,376 schools were registered in 489 examinations centres. The examined subjects were nine, namely: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Kinyarwanda, English and Entrepreneurship. Candidates who sat for examinations in 2019 were: 114,424 as compared to 96,523 in 2018. 54.4% (62,209) of them were girls; while 45.6% candidates (52,215) were boys.
In Teacher Training Colleges (TTC) Candidates who sat for national examinations were 3938 – 1558 males and 2388 females
