3rd International Conference on Reshaping Education for Sustainable Development Opens in Kigali
The 3rd International Conference on Reshaping Education for Sustainable Development opened today at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (KCEV). The three-day event is hosted by the University of Rwanda’s College of Education (UR-CE) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation’s Leaders in Teaching (LIT) Program.
Representing the Minister of Education at the opening ceremony, Eng. Pascal Gatabazi, Chief Technical Advisor at the Ministry, underscored the vital role of educators in driving change.
“As we face evolving global challenges, empowering teachers is essential. They are the catalysts for transformation,” he said.
Eng. Gatabazi called for stronger collaboration between education systems, research institutions, and industry, stressing the need for agility and adaptability in education—especially in light of lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held under the theme “Empowering Educators to Prepare Students for the Complex Challenges of Tomorrow,” the conference convenes global education leaders, scholars, and practitioners to exchange insights, research, and best practices for building resilient and future-ready education systems.
