Minister Nsengimana Champions 21st-Century Learning at African Education Festival
Minister of Education Joseph Nsengimana participated in the 4th edition of the African Education Festival, hosted at Green Hills Academy and organized by the International Baccalaureate. The festival took place under the theme "Leading and Learning in Africa: Developing 21st-Century Capabilities and Connections in Our Schools." It brought together educators, policymakers, and key stakeholders from across the continent to explore the future of education in Africa.
In his keynote address, Minister Nsengimana emphasized the festival’s significance and called for decisive action:
"In Rwanda, we recognize that the future of our nation—and our continent—rests in the hands of our young people. Let this festival be more than an exchange of ideas; let it be a catalyst for action. The future of Africa’s education is in our hands, and together, we can build a system that empowers generations to come."
Ahead of the festival, Minister Nsengimana met with the International Baccalaureate Executive Leadership Team to explore strategic collaboration. Their discussions centered on aligning educational priorities and reinforcing partnerships to improve learning outcomes across the continent. The goal is to ensure that every learner gains the essential skills for a successful future
