Northern Province’s SEOs receive internet connectivity gadgets to facilitate the reporting system

On 18th December 2018, the Minister of State in Charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Isaac Munyakazi distributed modem and 4G Sim cards for internet connectivity to all Sector Education Officers from Burera, Gakenke, Musanze and Rulindo districts in the Northern Province.  In his remarks, the Minister of State said: “We hope these gadgets will facilitate you in reporting on time, achieve your daily duties and do research”. He informed them that they are entitled to benefit from the free internet connectivity for a whole year and urged them to make the most of it.  All five districts SEOs of the Northern Province are now equipped with internet connectivity as Gicumbi ones were served in the last month.  The ongoing exercise targets all 416 Sector Education Officers and it is planned that by January 2019 all District Education Officers will also receive the same gadgets in order to strengthen the quality service from the ground.   The distribution took place after a meeting where all these SEOs exchanged with Northern Province local authorities on how to improve the quality education in this region . This meeting opened by Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi, the Governor of Northern Province was an occasion for all present districts’ SEOs to make commitments in regard to their responsibilities and expose their challenges.   Also present at the event were Dr. Irenee Ndayambaje , Director General  of Rwanda Education Board , Mr Benjamin Kageruka, Head of Education Quality  Assurance Department in MINEDUC, Mr. Habyarimana Jean Baptiste , Vice Mayor in Charge of Social Affairs in Burera District , Mrs Uwamariya Marie Claire, Vice Mayor in Charge of Social Affairs in Musanze District , Mrs Gasanganwa Marie Claire, Vice Mayor in Charge of Social Affairs in Rulindo District , Security organs representatives and District Education Directors and Officers.  END.
