Opening ceremony of FEASSSA-Arusha, 2019

 Arusha, Friday 16th August 2019: The 19th Edition of FEASSSA (Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sport Association) competitions for 2019 school year are taking place from 17th 24th August 2019 in Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania.

 The official opening ceremony of FEASSSA 2019 took place on Friday 16 August 2019 at Sheikh Abeid Stadium in Arusha and was officiated by the Minister Selemani Jafo, Minister of Local Government in the President’s Office.

 School teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda held an opening parade. In his opening speech, Minister Selemani Jafo said: "My country Tanzania is very honoured to host FEASSSA 19th Edition Games, which brought together more than 2000 athletes in different games. It is the first competition that has brought a larger number of athletes in the East African Community (EAC). This is the most beautiful opportunity to discover the young talents of our respective countries.”

 The Rwandan teams that participated in the competitions are in the following disciplines:    Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Table Tennis, Lawn tennis, swimming and athletics. All athletes are 241. The teams that participated in the games taking place in Arusha, Tanzania are:
