Students and Youth commended for their commitment to contribute towards the sustainable development goals and African union agenda 2053

On 27th July 2018, the Minsiter of Education Dr. Eugene Mutimura closed the 7th African Student and Youth Summit 2018 (ASYS),a summit that has brought together more than 2000 students and youth to Kigali from 25th July 2018.
The theme of the summit was  “Pan-Africanism: A paradigm towards achieving SDGs agenda 2030 and AU agenda 2063, the role of youth counts” .
In his closing remarks the Minister of Education Dr.Eugene Mutimura commended the talents and potential emanating from the  students  . "  this summit has taught us that the youth and students who have gathered here have a a lot of  talents  a lot of capacity to form a strong dialogue and network" the Minister said 
He stressed that this will facilitate the work that is expected of them.  " you are the true youth and students who are going to contribute towards the  sustainable development goals and African union agenda 2053 ." 
He advised them on how to prepare themselves for the leadership of 'the Africa we want: "A leader becomes a leader  today not tomorrow, and that is a personal motivation  and commitment" He added the that to achieve this there is a cost.'Iit means you have to stand for the truth , you have to stand for justice and that is very critical for the leaders of today and tomorrow youth ,  that is why you are here as youth " .
The Africa Students’ and Youth Summit (ASYS) is the flagship annual event of the All-Africa Students Union that brings together students and youth of African from within Africa and the diaspora.
