The Minister of State recommended Accountability in Education matters in the meeting with Education stakeholders in Southern Province

On this Tuesday February 19, 2019, The Minister of State in charge of Primary and Secondary Education Dr. Isaac Munyakazi officiated the Meeting on Quality Education matters in Southern Province. Participants included local authorities of the entire province, Districts Directors of Education, Sector Education Officers and Schools Head Teachers. 
While opening this Meeting, The Minister of State highlighted issues that are still hindering the quality of Education, like some teachers wo do not prepare pedagogical documents, irresponsibility of Head teachers, Sector Education officers who rarely visit schools, absenteeism of teachers and students, poor implementation of the School feeding program, school hygiene issues, limited involvement of parents in the school life, etc.
The meeting agreed that these issues will be handled in short period of time. Local leaders committed to take measures where need be. 
Though southern Province was the last province in the results of the National examinations of the school year 2018, The Minister of State congratulated the best perfomers schools of southern province like Ahazaza Primary School, Ecole des Sciences de Byimana, PSVF Karubanda, Ecole Autonome. Other schools were advised to take a good example of these schools.
