The Minister of State TWAGIRAYEZU launched TMIS Platform

Kigali, June 1st, 2021: The Minister of State in charge of Primary and Secondary Education Hon. Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU officiated a virtual event to launch the Teacher Management Information System (TMIS) Platform developed by Rwanda Basic Education in Partnership with UNICEF and the Mastercard Foundation.

The TMIS has been developed and upgraded as stipulated in the Presidential Order No 064/01 Of 16/03/2020 establishing special statutes governing teachers in nursery, primary and secondary education. 

The Teacher information system will help in registration of Teachers; setting deadline for registration as professional teachers; licensing of a professional teacher; recruitment and appointment of teachers; CPD Trainings; transfer of a teacher; right of updating the professional file; performance appraisal of teachers and promotion of teachers.

In his remarks at the official launch event, the Minister of State in charge of Primary and Secondary Education Hon. Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU noted that teachers are the most important stakeholders in education system, they need to be given the best service possible. This system comes at the right time & needs to be used well at all levels.
